Monday, April 13

Experience the unique charm of marionettes and enjoy tales of dragons, kings, princesses, mermaids and ghosts who sing and dance. Puppeteer Charlotte Anne Dore of Rosalita’s Puppets will delight the child in all of us.

Watch as working antique machines grind corn meal, crush rocks, and more! See a 1909 rock crusher, 1930 Sears & Roebuck “Hit and miss” engine, and others in action.

How are geodes formed and what’s inside them? We’ll unravel this mystery for you with a short class as our volcano erupts.

Meet some amazing animals and learn what adaptations have helped them to survive in their wild habitats for generations. But, will they have the adaptations to survive global climate change? Find out who will and who might not in this special presentation by the Beardsley Zoo.

Discover Pond Life | 12:45 pm (1 hr)
Work with educators from the Denison Pequotsepos Nature Center to collect and observe specimens from our pond. Use nets to go ‘Pond Dipping’ to see who inhabits the pond. Learn about unique pond animals such as beavers, frogs, and aquatic insects.
