The 2008 First Annual "Twelve Dinosaurs of Christmas" Fundraising Event concluded on an exceptionally joyful note when the Director of Marketing and Event Organizer, Corrina Ferguson along with the entire Dinosaur Place family, presented a check in the amount of $5,095 to Waterford Country School.

The Dinosaur Place took their famous pre-historic creativity to the next level with an innovative spin on the well known Christmas Carol, "The Twelve Days of Christmas." Displays were created to illustrate the dinosaur-inspired lyrics that were recorded by the Regional Multicultural Magnet School Chorus.

The idea was to create an inexpensive way for families to spend quality time together this holiday season while supporting The Waterford Country School. For more than 84 years Waterford Country School located in Quaker Hill, CT has worked to meet the special needs of children and families at risk.

Over 2000 guests walked through the dinosaur & Christmas-themed scenes at this one-of-a-kind holiday event. Families had the opportunity to participate in an "I Spy" activity, make a dinosaur ornament souvenir and vote for their favorite scene. Although it was close, "12 Tyrannosaurs in Tutus" ended up as the overall favorite, while "8 Stegosaurs Sipping" (sponsored by Coca-Cola) and "A Longneck Crunching Pine Trees," tied for second place. "I was amazed at how close the votes were for all the displays," said Corrina, "the families really enjoyed the efforts that went into each and every scene!"

Thank you to everyone who visited, donated time & energy and really helped make this a wonderful first-time event. We are already working on making The 12 Dinosaurs of Christmas even bigger and better for 2009!
